LIMEN — FAQ
Answers about LIMEN, the works, and how to inquire.
Who is LIMEN?
I am a Belgian painter. I grew up with brushes in the house, and I inherited the discipline from my father. My work explores liminal spaces—between presence and absence, stillness and revelation. I have been painting for many years, though mostly in silence. My works found their way into private collections and small auctions, passed from hand to hand through word of mouth. I never sought visibility, nor did I ever imagine myself on a platform like Instagram. But close friends and collectors convinced me that it was time to open a window — to let my paintings breathe beyond the studio walls.
What is your artistic approach?
I build quiet architectures and place a solitary figure within them. The mood is influenced by metaphysical painters such as Giorgio de Chirico and the cinematic stillness of Edward Hopper, yet the emotion is my own.
Do you sell originals and giclées?
For each work, there is a single original painting and a limited giclée edition of 21, each numbered and signed. Originals are oil on canvas; giclées are museum-grade pigment prints. Availability is indicated on each work’s page.
How can I acquire a piece?
I do not sell through the website. Please contact me directly via the Inquiries page or Instagram. Exclusive sales open periodically; joining early is recommended.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. I ship worldwide with secure packaging and insurance. Originals are handled with bespoke logistics; giclées ship within a reasonable time frame. Framing is available upon request.
Do works come with a certificate?
Yes. Every original and every giclée comes with a signed certificate of authenticity (COA) and edition details.
Do you accept commissions?
I occasionally accept private commissions that align with my universe. Share a location, a memory, or a symbol you wish to explore, and I will tell you if it fits.
Can I use your images commercially?
No. Purchasing a work does not grant reproduction rights. All images and artworks remain © LIMEN. Please contact me for licensing inquiries.
